What happens in our lab:

Purifying Oleic Acid: Oleic acid (an omega-9 fatty acid) is extracted from organic high oleic acid sunflower meal. The sunflower oil is broken down to separate the oleic acid from its glycerol backbone. The oleic acid is then washed and purified to remove trace metals, organic contaminants, and microbiological impurities.

Synthesizing the Plasmalogen Precursor Backbone:Unlike animal-derived sources, the plasmalogen precursor backbone is created from scratch in a pure form.

Combining the Components:The purified oleic acid is attached to the plasmalogen precursor, forming ProdromeGlia oil.

Final Purification & Packaging: Before bottling or encapsulation, the oil undergoes further purification to remove oxygen and water molecules, ensuring maximum purity and resistance to oxidation.

All steps are performed in our own cGMP-certified manufacturing facility to ensure quality and safety.

ProdromeGlia™ is an omega-9 (oleic acid) plasmalogen precursor that targets white matter in the brain. Like ProdromeNeuro™, it is bioidentical to naturally occurring oleic acid plasmalogen precursors but cannot be practically derived from natural vegetarian sources. The oleic acid used to make ProdromeGlia™ is extracted and purified from plant-based triglycerides. White matter is largely made up of myelin, which requires high levels of omega-9 plasmalogens to function.

While we recommend taking the blood test, it is not required when trying Prodrome plasmalogen products. Many people take ProdromeNeuro™ in the morning because it has a slightly stimulating effect and ProdromeGlia™ in the evening because it has a calming effect.

Additionally, our ProdromeNeuro™ and ProdromeGlia™ products are plasmalogen precursors, specifically formulated by Dr. Goodenowe for optimal absorption and bioavailability. These precursors are designed to bypass gut degradation, allowing them to quickly and effectively restore plasmalogen levels in the body.

However, many prefer taking ProdromeNeuro in the morning and ProdromeGlia in the evening.

Store ProdromeNeuro plasmalogen liquid oil in the refrigerator when you receive it and after opening to maintain freshness. ProdromeNeuro can be kept at room temperature, but we recommend to store in the fridge for freshness. All other supplements can be stored in a cool, dry place.

ProdromeNeuro plasmalogen oil has a shelf life of 18 months prior to opening (once opened it is best to use within 30 days). ProdromeGlia plasmalogen oil has a shelf life of 24 months (once opened it is best to use within 90 days). The ProdromeNeuro and ProdromeGlia softgels have a shelf life of 24 months.

All of the oils have a manufacturing date printed on the bottle and this should not be confused with an expiration date.
